Solid S925 Silver
Genuine sterling silver forms the foundation of our silver pieces, chosen for its feel, finish and enduring place in jewellery.
Personalised Moissanite Jewellery for Everyday Wear
MADE TO LAST
Chosen for its unmistakable brilliance, exceptional clarity and everyday durability. Moissanite disperses more spectral light than diamond, creating vivid flashes of colour with every movement.
MADE TO BE WORN
Beautiful jewellery should feel as considered in your hand as it looks from a distance. From the silver beneath the finish to the settings holding each stone, the details matter.
Genuine sterling silver forms the foundation of our silver pieces, chosen for its feel, finish and enduring place in jewellery.
A bright rhodium finish gives our silver jewellery its crisp white-metal appearance while adding a protective surface over the sterling silver beneath.
Considered settings are designed to showcase the brilliance of each moissanite while holding the stone securely in place.
Know what you're wearing
Both can look beautifully clear when new. They are not the same material. We choose Moissanite because its greater hardness, higher refractive index and greater dispersion better match the standard we want for jewellery designed to be worn regularly.
01 · Why we chose it
We didn't choose Moissanite simply because it catches the light beautifully. We wanted a stone with strong everyday hardness and an optical character you can actually notice when jewellery moves.
We compared the materials, looked at their published gemological properties and selected the one that better matched what we wanted ELLA EVA jewellery to feel like: considered, bright and made for regular wear.
Greater resistance to surface scratching during wear.
Stronger separation of white light into spectral colour.
A distinctly different interaction with light.
02 · Watch the comparison
A professional, no-face studio comparison turns the published numbers into something customers can actually see: matched lighting, macro detail and the same camera setup.
Moissanite and Cubic Zirconia can both look bright and clear, but they are different materials. Published gemological data places synthetic Moissanite at approximately 9.25 on the Mohs hardness scale, compared with around 8 to 8.5 for cubic zirconia.
Moissanite also has a higher published dispersion value — approximately 0.104 compared with around 0.058 to 0.066 for CZ — and a higher refractive index. These measurable differences help explain why the materials behave differently with light and why ELLA EVA selected Moissanite for our current stone specification.
Video transcript: when the final studio video is published, these comparison notes should be replaced with its verbatim accessible transcript.
03 · Side by side
The numbers matter, but only if they help you understand what you are actually buying.
Moissanite is harder than CZ, giving it greater resistance to surface scratching during wear.
Dispersion describes how strongly white light separates into spectral colour — the physical property behind gemstone fire.
Refractive index describes how strongly light bends as it passes through the material.
Reference values are based on published Gemological Institute of America material. “D Colour · VVS1” describes the supplier specification selected for ELLA EVA stones and is not presented as a GIA Moissanite grading report. Sources: GIA Synthetic Moissanite and GIA Cubic Zirconia.
04 · Real-wear evidence
Published data explains the materials. Our wear diary will document what we actually observe in everyday use.
Both pieces photographed using the same documented camera and lighting setup before regular wear.
The final observation is written only after the photographs and wear period are complete.
This is an ELLA EVA comparative wear diary, not a peer-reviewed laboratory durability study.
05 · A real-person reaction
After the technical evidence and wear diary, a short creator clip answers a different question: what does a normal jewellery wearer actually notice when they see and wear the piece?
The creator clip is deliberately different from the technical comparison: it captures a genuine first impression, movement on the body and how the piece feels to wear.
First impression when the piece is opened.
How the stone catches light as it moves.
How the jewellery feels when worn.
Anything that surprised the wearer in person.
The approved creator's verbatim transcript will appear here with the final clip. Their wording should remain their own and should not be expanded into technical or durability claims they did not make.
06 · We asked our community
Gemology tells us how the stones differ. Preference is personal, so we also ask jewellery buyers directly.
“If two pieces looked similar, which stone would you rather receive?”

07 · Environmental context
We would rather be precise than manufacture a green claim that the available evidence cannot support.

Yes. Published values place synthetic Moissanite at approximately 9.25 Mohs compared with around 8–8.5 for cubic zirconia.
Moissanite has the higher published dispersion value: approximately 0.104 versus around 0.058–0.066 for CZ.
Our current selected stone specification uses Moissanite rather than Cubic Zirconia.
We do not currently make that blanket claim. Both are manufactured materials, and a meaningful comparison needs comparable lifecycle data.
